About the Role

AECOM seeks a Senior Transmission Line Permitting Specialist for its Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team in Texas. This hybrid role involves leading project teams, preparing environmental documents, and supporting permitting and entitlement work for energy infrastructure projects, including transmission, grid modernization, and renewable energy developments. The role also requires client relationship management, business development, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental planning and compliance efforts for energy infrastructure projects, including NEPA documentation and technical studies.
  • Coordinate with state utility regulatory agencies to support transmission siting, routing, and permitting approvals.
  • Manage early-stage due diligence for siting energy projects and associated infrastructure.
  • Provide project management for mid- to large-sized projects, including schedule, budget, invoicing, and coordination.
  • Work on environmental documents and entitlements for high-profile infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on the energy sector.
  • Support projects across Texas and other U.S. markets.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development, proposal preparation, and cost estimating.
  • Provide leadership in mentoring personnel, including reviewing their work and offering feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning or a related field.
  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in electric transmission and renewable energy through preparing PUC and/or NEPA documents, routing and siting analysis, critical issues analysis, land use entitlement applications, and/or overseeing multi-disciplinary technical teams for resource technical studies and permitting.
  • Ability to travel for agency/client meetings as needed.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's license is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
