About the Role
Ogilvy Health UK is seeking Senior Medical Writers to contribute to medical education and communication programmes, ensuring high-quality scientific content and providing internal leadership. The role involves leading scientific discussions with clients and experts, contributing to scientific strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting proposals and pitches.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the full range of medical education/communication programmes
- Ensuring delivery of high-quality scientific content, reviewing work by junior colleagues, and providing internal leadership of small editorial teams
- Leading scientific discussions with clients and external experts, face to face and on calls
- Contributing to scientific strategy to inform tactical planning of accounts, both internally and with clients
- Helping to identify organic growth opportunities on accounts
- Contributing to the scientific development of proposals and pitches
- Line management, mentoring, coaching, and training
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience as a Medical Writer
- Details of previous agencies, clients, therapy area experience, project types and the audiences for which you have written (e.g. specialists, GPs, nurses, pharmacists and patients)
- Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, the ability to adapt your approach according to the needs of clients and teams, and the ability to respond rapidly to situations and manage internal/external issues
- Familiarity with organic growth and contributing to proposals and pitches
- Ability to deliver events and large educational programmes, and experience of digital projects
- Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, e.g. ABPI, GPP3, ICMJE
