About the Role
The Housekeeping Attendant/Houseperson is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and maintenance in assigned guest areas and public spaces. This role ensures all housekeeping operations align with Hotel X Toronto's standards and procedures, responding to guest requests and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all Public areas, including cleaning furniture, ledges, floors, frames, hinges, garbage cans, tables, and light fixtures.
- Clean turn around areas, all entrances, and entrance mats.
- Clean all washrooms, empty garbage containers, and wipe/clean inside and outside.
- Clean sinks, partitions, receptacles, and chrome fixtures; disinfect all surface areas of toilets and replace supplies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all guest floors and related areas.
- Maintain high standards for all housekeeping operations and be knowledgeable of Hotel X Toronto's policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Care for and maintain equipment during each shift, reporting any defaults to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
- Collect garbage from all areas, including hotel grounds and parking lot.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces, chairs, shelves, and picture frames.
- Clean the administrative office for the hotel.
- Polish all stainless steel/chrome surfaces, including elevators.
- Vacuum public areas and offices.
- Steam clean and spot clean all carpeted areas.
- Deliver guest dry cleaning and laundry as needed.
- Prepare and deliver required par stock of all linen for all guest floors, ensuring inventory for Room Attendants is stocked.
- Keep accurate records of daily productivity.
- Respond to HOTSOS calls for guest item deliveries (cots, cribs, towels, etc.).
- Follow all job safety standards and procedures.
- Know all emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) when required (gloves, goggles, back support for chemicals).
- Comply with hotel policies and procedures, and wear uniform and name badges.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Practice the recycle of linen and toweling as per hotel procedures.
- Clean and make up guestrooms as needed, including rubbish removal, bed making, dusting, vacuuming, carpet spot cleaning, bathroom cleaning, and replacing guest supplies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year cleaning experience in a Hotel or related industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests, employees, and management.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Salary/Compensations
- Up to the midpoint of the pay range, with potential for up to the range maximum for exceptional candidates.
