About the Role

As the Head of Finance for Nigeria, you will be the institutional financial leader for the region's highest-volume business unit, acting as a 360-degree Market CFO. Your role involves safeguarding compliance, tax frameworks, and legal risks while accelerating business partnering and EBITDA growth. You will translate complex local operational realities into clear financial strategies and build trusted relationships with global HQ finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A, including future planning cycles, business scenarios, and market profitability paths.
  • Drive commercial growth by proposing and executing data-backed initiatives.
  • Own local controlling, directing monthly closing reviews, establishing financial provisions, and ensuring robust reporting packages.
  • Conduct variance analysis between Actuals and Budgets.
  • Manage auditor relationships as the primary contact for Big 4 auditors.
  • Mitigate legal, regulatory, and tax risks with localized strategies.
  • Safeguard cash flow by overseeing treasury operations, billing, and Accounts Payable.
  • Liaise with global finance teams to surface regional risks/opportunities and share local process improvements.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of solid experience in technical finance disciplines (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A Planning).
  • Proven background spanning Tier 1 Audit / Big 4 experience.
  • At least 5 years of in-house corporate finance management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring P&L targets and managing financial constraints with an "early-warning" mindset.
  • Strong understanding of how commercial levers, logistics, operations, and marketing drive the local P&L.
  • High-impact communication capacity to respectfully challenge local and HQ C-suite leaders using data-driven insights.
  • Experience working within high-growth tech scale-ups or FMCG/Retail multinationals is highly preferred.
