About the Role

The Senior Manager of Finance Operations leads the Finance Operations organization, responsible for maintaining accurate operational and financial data. This role focuses on improving automation, strengthening controls, and ensuring scalable finance operations processes to support payroll, invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage Finance Operations leaders and teams responsible for Finance Operations, Billing, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Set the strategy, operating model, and priorities for the Finance Operations organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term scalability.
  • Own the end-to-end reconciliation process for completed shifts, ensuring accuracy and alignment of time & attendance, rates, invoicing, billing, collections, agency settlement, and financial reporting data.
  • Own the operational inputs to revenue, gross profit, accounts receivable, and bad debt reporting, ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and flows correctly into downstream systems.
  • Own operational service levels and performance metrics across finance operations workflows, including accuracy, automation, exception management, and stakeholder experience.
  • Partner closely with R&D leadership to improve product workflows, automate operational processes, and continuously reduce manual work.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex reconciliation issues, escalations, agency queries, and operational exceptions.
  • Partner with Revenue, Strategy, and Operational leadership to onboard new client requirements, ensure scalable finance operations processes, and flag client payment or overtrading risks.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections operations, ensuring processes are accurate, timely, scalable, and supported by appropriate controls.
  • Own credit management, collections performance, aged debt reduction, bad debt recommendations, and write-off approvals.
  • Lead weekly AR ledger and overtrading reviews, ensuring potential payment issues are identified, escalated, and addressed.
  • Partner with FP&A, Controllership, and Finance leadership during month-end close, P&L reviews, bad debt provisioning, and financial performance analysis.
  • Partner closely with Payroll leadership to ensure reconciled operational data supports accurate and efficient payroll processing.
  • Support month-end close, audit activities, reporting requirements, and financial controls.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading multiple finance operations, billing, accounts receivable, revenue operations, or similar operational finance functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading managers and building high-performing organizations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of time & attendance, rates, reconciliations, billing, invoicing, collections, operational finance processes, and financial controls.
  • Experience owning operational finance inputs that support revenue, gross profit, accounts receivable, bad debt, month-end close, and P&L reporting.
  • Experience partnering with FP&A, Controllership, Payroll, Revenue, Strategy, Product, Engineering, or R&D leadership.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, or R&D leadership to automate workflows and improve operational systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale operational transformation, process improvement, and automation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive scalable solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across Finance, Payroll, Operations, Revenue, Strategy, Product, and Engineering leadership teams.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Experience in staffing, workforce management, marketplaces, or other high-volume operational environments preferred.
  • Experience with finance and operational platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar systems.

Salary/Compensations

  • £70,000 - £90,000 per annum
