About the Role

Harlequin, a division of HarperCollins, is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor - Warehouse Operations. This hands-on role is primarily on the warehouse floor, ensuring processes run smoothly and meet industry standards. The position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations to identify gaps, reinforce best practices, and promote consistency in quality and process execution.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform warehouse audit activities, highlighting exceptions and opportunities.
  • Map processes to identify discrepancies between defined procedures and actual practices.
  • Research process variations and assist in establishing standard practices.
  • Maintain process audit paperwork and records.
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develop and update quality auditing procedures and checklists.
  • Escalate risks or conflicts as needed.
  • Perform stock verifications and quality checks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate and perform quality checks, sortations, and product/location audits.
  • Monitor, document, and research quality control complaints.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Collaborate with associates, team leads, and supervisors during investigations.
  • Gather and summarize data from information systems and paper records.
  • Back up the quality verification auditor as needed.
  • Provide timely feedback to supervisors and leadership.
  • Lead investigations.
  • Deliver on-floor training and refreshers on quality standards and processes.
  • Participate in process improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with business partners at HDC, Toronto, and Montage.
  • Support Harlequin’s Guiding Behaviors in all interactions.
  • Support 5S initiatives to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Perform marginal tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree preferred with 2 years of Quality experience, or at least 4 years of Quality experience.
  • Experience working in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, including MS Office & Outlook.
  • Demonstrated solid communication and interpersonal skills, with professional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Strong listening and interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of Management Warehouse Systems (PkMS preferred) is a plus.
  • Ability to work under strong demands and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage time by changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, and English/Metric conversions.
  • Ability to perform product measurements and sizing calculations.
  • Ability to read and verify numbers, check data on a computer, audit data, and perform number reconciliations.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather details, alert others, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to problem-solve and apply logical reasoning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify/correct problems.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, hear, grasp, operate objects and controls, reach with hands and arms, use computer, use close and distant vision and adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, work on a computer, crouch, and lift weights up to 35 lbs., push up to 100 lbs. on a cart.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must be comfortable working on the warehouse floor and moving between departments.
  • Frequently required to work near moving equipment.
  • Frequently works in noise of moderate volume.
  • Occasionally smells diesel fumes from dock trucks and propane from forklifts.
  • Occasionally works in varying degrees of temperature.
