Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Shipping Department.
- Follow load schedules and ensure a smooth workflow.
- Coordinate the staging area.
- Organize special packaging.
- Load trucks.
- Perform various operations in the department as required.
Requirements
- Ability to sort items with good organizational skills.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Comprehend and follow work instructions, loading schedules, and production tickets.
- Understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully.
- Work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.
- Basic ability to read and write English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi-task, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Work experience with pneumatic tools and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations.
- Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations.
- Heavy loads must be team-lifted.
- Maintain a work pace that ensures the integrity of the make-to-order system.
- Comply with COVID policies established by a vendor or customer.
