About the Role

London Hire Community Services provides accessible home-to-school transport for individuals unable to use public transport. We prioritize passenger and staff safety, adhering to industry standards and OHSAS 18001 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Help passengers embark and disembark, including those with disabilities.
• Monitor and supervise passengers during transit, ensuring their welfare.
• Operate passenger lifts and other boarding equipment as needed.
• Secure wheelchairs using appropriate equipment.
• Ensure passengers in wheelchairs are properly secured with safety belts.
• Communicate with passengers and clients patiently and informatively.
• Report delays and incidents according to depot procedures.
• Ensure the vehicle is secure while in use.
• Utilize communication equipment effectively for service efficiency.

Requirements

• Demonstrate a sound understanding of disabilities.
• Possess a patient and level-headed attitude.
• Ability to work in a team and independently using initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great attention to detail and ability to complete records clearly and accurately.
