About the Role
The Information is seeking a senior reporter to lead coverage on investors influencing the technology market, specifically focusing on public-market and late-stage private investors. This role involves source-driven reporting and market analysis to provide insights into capital movement, IPOs, and dealmaking for an audience of founders, CEOs, and investors.
Responsibilities
- Break news on investor positioning regarding technology companies
- Produce features, profiles, and data-driven insights
- Build and maintain a deep source network among hedge funds, mutual funds, crossover investors, private equity, venture firms, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices
- Write differentiated analysis and regular columns
- Conduct high-profile interviews with investors, CEOs, founders, and bankers
- Represent the company at events, on panels, and via live media appearances
- Collaborate with newsroom reporters on capital flow stories
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience covering business, finance, markets, investing, or technology
- Proven track record of source-driven reporting and breaking news
- Deep understanding of public and private markets, institutional investors, and company valuation
- Demonstrated ability to write with authority and clarity
- Experience cultivating senior sources across finance and technology sectors
- Strong editorial judgment
- Ability to work from the San Francisco or New York office
- Eligible to live and work in the United States
