About the Role
As a Lead Buyer (m/w/d), you will lead and develop a team of strategic buyers while playing a key role in advancing our purchasing function. You will be responsible for selected manufacturers and complex contract and condition negotiations, driving change and transformation projects, optimizing cross-departmental processes, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure sustainable purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of strategic buyers, taking responsibility for selected manufacturers, contract negotiations, and strategic purchasing initiatives.
- Develop and implement sustainable purchasing strategies to ensure growth, profitability, and competitiveness.
- Manage annual and condition negotiations with manufacturers, optimizing central purchasing KPIs such as purchasing discounts, bonuses, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Control and analyze the performance of your area of responsibility using relevant KPIs like margin, sales development, delivery performance, and sales dynamics, deriving concrete measures.
- Collaborate closely with Retail Media, Category Management, and Demand & Supply to successfully implement cross-departmental initiatives and achieve sustainable business success.
- Build and strategically develop long-term, partnership-based relationships with manufacturers, positioning Redcare as a preferred retail partner.
Requirements
- Successfully completed studies in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, including leadership of a (small) team of buyers.
- Sound purchasing experience in a retail, e-commerce, or FMCG environment, with responsibility for purchasing merchandise or branded products.
- Experience in developing and implementing purchasing strategies and conducting complex annual and condition negotiations with manufacturers.
- Data and KPI-driven approach, commercial mindset, and ability to derive concrete measures from analyses to improve sales, margin, and performance.
- Confident demeanor, strong negotiation skills, and ability to build long-term, partnership-based supplier relationships.
- Proficient communication in German and English, with a willingness to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.
