About the Role
The Group Account Director provides strategic and tactical leadership for a portfolio of business totaling $10-20+MM. They serve as the senior partner and trusted advisor for clients and agency cross-functional teams to create successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership for a portfolio of business.
- Serve as the senior partner and trusted advisor for clients and agency cross-functional teams.
- Manage a senior team focused on day-to-day account operations, relationship management, and revenue growth.
- Drive account strategy, account management, account growth, and leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Develop and oversee the delivery of account and engagement strategy.
- Identify client needs and ensure approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs.
- Build new executive-level relationships and network.
- Manage client expectations and ensure delivery of the highest quality.
- Communicate client feedback effectively.
- Manage portfolio profitability in coordination with agency MDs.
- Develop and negotiate work.
- Oversee all aspects of account operations (AR, contracts, etc.).
- Build high-performing teams and mentor talent.
- Seek out and understand opportunities to grow business with the client.
- Manage and set expectations to ensure quality work is delivered on time and on brief.
- Identify client business needs and collaborate with agency teams to build effective solutions.
- Act as a leader, communicator, and mentor.
- Collaborate with the agency's India office, potentially joining early morning calls.
- Work with the agency's East Coast office time zone.
Requirements
- Experience driving account strategy, account management, account growth, and leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing account and engagement strategy and overseeing its delivery.
- Strong story-telling and strategy development capabilities.
- Aptitude for developing and delivering well-thought-out documents and presentations.
- Ability to identify client needs that clients may not recognize.
- Proven ability to build new executive-level relationships and network.
- Effectiveness in managing client expectations.
- Ability to ensure delivery of the highest quality.
- Skill in communicating client feedback effectively.
- Experience managing portfolio profitability.
