About the Role
This role focuses on the business-facing side of HR, primarily supporting Operations and the wider HR Team. The specialist area is Employee Relations, providing comprehensive advice and service across departments. Responsibilities include coaching managers on policies, supporting HR projects, and serving as a first point of contact for employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of Employee Relations cases end-to-end, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and workplace investigations
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on ER issues, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policy and employment law
- Lead and support complex and sensitive cases, including investigations and hearings
- Coach and provide support to line managers in building confidence and capability in handling people matters
- Develop and deliver training workshops to line managers to develop and empower them in their people management capabilities
- Embed company values and encourage managers to do the same
- Utilize a data-driven and analytic approach to managing ER, including ongoing reporting of key metrics
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records, producing reports and insights
- Identify trends in ER activity and provide recommendations to mitigate risk and improve practices
- Collaborate with wider HR teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality HR service
- Stay updated with new employment legislation and proactively seek out HR initiatives for implementation
Requirements
- Proven experience in a HR Advisor or similar role within a fast-paced environment
- Strong Employee Relations expertise, with demonstrable experience managing complex cases independently
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, or developing junior HR colleagues
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
