About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Data Centre Architect to join their Urbanism + Planning team. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine leadership, client engagement, and project delivery on significant Data Centre projects in Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership and technical oversight on Data Centre projects.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through complex architectural commissions.
  • Set clear design direction for projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive successful outcomes.
  • Oversee major Data Centre initiatives to ensure design quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with sector leads to win major pursuits and deepen client relationships.
  • Champion design and technical standards by delivering sustainable, innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
  • Mentor staff to elevate studio-wide capability.
  • Strengthen business performance through effective resource allocation, budget, and risk management.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and market positioning of the architecture offering.

Requirements

  • Registered Architect with ideally 15+ years of experience and current professional registration.
  • Extensive architectural Data Centre sector experience with strong technical knowledge and Data Centre specific design considerations.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating, developing, and growing high-performing teams.
  • Passion for mentoring and teaching.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Strategic mindset with the capability to shape and strengthen AECOM’s architectural offering and market position.
