About the Role
LCCA is seeking a Student Finance Advisor to offer expert guidance and support to students regarding Student Finance England (SFE). This role involves providing accurate advice, assisting with funding applications, and ensuring efficient and compliant finance processes within the Student Services team.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance on Student Finance England funding, eligibility, and financial policies.
- Support students with SFE applications and finance-related queries.
- Respond to enquiries via email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
- Handle sensitive financial discussions with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
- Manage communications with UCA regarding registration, attendance confirmations, and student funding requirements.
- Maintain accurate student finance records and ensure compliance with GDPR and institutional policies.
- Complete termly attendance confirmations and administer weekly reporting requirements.
- Work closely with the Student Hub, academic teams, and external funding bodies to resolve student finance issues.
- Contribute to service improvements and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in finance, compliance, administration, or student support within an education or public sector environment.
- Understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including GDPR, Safeguarding, and Prevent.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with student management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience within higher education.
- Knowledge of Student Finance England processes.
- Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Understanding of Office for Students (OfS) requirements.
- Must be able to prove the right to work in the UK.
