About the Role

SYSTRA is hiring a Senior Architect in London to join their Buildings Team. This role focuses on delivering projects in the Transport and Infrastructure Sectors, including passenger stations, rail depots, and energy from waste projects. The Senior Architect will play an integral part in a world-leading multi-disciplinary transport design consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical coordination for various design packages under the project Principal Architect's stewardship.
  • Technically develop and deliver design packages, ensuring compliance with project standards and client requirements.
  • Produce designs, drawings, schedules, and calculations for design projects.
  • Manage less experienced colleagues in design delivery.
  • Take responsibility for allocated tasks and coordinate supporting staff.
  • Direct and manage in-house architectural technicians, other design disciplines, and Architectural Partners.
  • Liaise with architecture and wider multi-discipline colleagues to produce collaborative built-environment design solutions.
  • Manage design input from Architectural partners and Sub-contractors/consultants.
  • Take projects from conception to completion, including feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed design, and site support.
  • Assist in managing resources to achieve project delivery targets within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Provide technical assistance to site-based personnel.
  • Lead and be proactive in project meetings.
  • Advise contractors and consultants on projects.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design solutions during Technical Design, Construction, and Handover stages (Work Stages 4-8).
  • Review tender opportunities, prepare deliverables, cost estimates, programmes, and collaboration requirements.
  • Direct and manage in-house architectural staff, other design disciplines, and sub-consultants.

Requirements

  • ARB & RIBA registered Architect.
  • Experienced/Accredited user in Revit / Microstation/ AECOsim.
  • Fully conversant in CAD modelling to compliant standards and company/sector specific protocols.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop / InDesign for graphical presentations.
  • Excellent report and case study writing skills.
  • General skills in Microsoft Office suite of software packages.
  • Experience using common data environments for file sharing.
  • Robust knowledge of design and construction principles and standards.
  • Motivated team player who works well under pressure.
