Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc batch processing operations, ensuring timely completion of scheduled jobs.
- Initiate, track, and control batch job execution using Scheduling tools.
- Analyze batch job failures, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot JCL errors, application-related issues, and system-level problems affecting batch processing.
- Perform restarts and recoveries of failed batch jobs as per defined procedures.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mainframe operations or development, with a strong focus on JCL and batch processing.
- Good knowledge and understanding of COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS database.
- Proficiency in JCL programming and debugging.
- Knowledge of incident management processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to drive tasks independently.
