About the Role

This role is responsible for managing payroll functions, including calculating employee pay, withholding taxes, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The position involves processing payroll for various employee types, administering employee records, and providing support on payroll matters. It also includes ensuring compliance with statutory filings and reporting to tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees.
  • Calculating tax and other contributions, withholding, and paying out as appropriate.
  • Employee payroll record administration and troubleshooting.
  • Providing guidance and support to employees on all payroll matters.
  • Ensuring compliance related statutory filings.
  • Managing the reply to Government institution notices related to all Statutory obligations.
  • Payroll statutory reporting and filing.
  • Liaison with relevant local tax authorities.
  • Monthly payroll processing in Japan.
  • Income & resident taxes filing & reporting in Japan.
  • Social insurances filing & reporting in Japan.
  • Payroll accounting in Japan.
  • Year-end filing & reporting in Japan.
  • Audit activities (internal / external / statutory / regulatory) in Japan.
  • Conformance testing for risk & control activities in Japan.
  • Supporting regional initiatives.
  • Participation in project activity as Subject Matter Expertise of Japan Payroll.

Requirements

  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise.
