About the Role

The Manager, Loyalty Partnerships will lead the sourcing, development, and execution of strategic partner relationships within the PayPal Rewards program in Germany. This role is responsible for driving partner-led growth through strong business development, including identifying new partnership opportunities, structuring commercial agreements, and leading negotiations with external partners. This individual will work cross-functionally to bring partnerships to market, ensuring they deliver compelling customer value, drive engagement and retention, and contribute to PayPal’s broader growth strategy in Germany and across global markets.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and global market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities.
  • Lead the negotiation with external partners and engage cross-functional support colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.
  • Shape long-term commercial strategy by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, and partnership performance to prioritize high-impact growth opportunities.
  • Establish scalable partnership frameworks and operating models that streamline execution, enhance collaboration across teams, and ensure consistent delivery of partner value.
  • Align product and business levers (such as pricing and FX) to maximize revenue and market expansion opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Research teams to translate business priorities into scalable solutions — ensuring the technical design and implementation align with growth, commercial, and customer experience objectives.
  • Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this knowledge to drive effective prioritization and decision-making.
  • Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Banking Partners.
  • Own the end-to-end partnership lifecycle: identify, source, and develop new opportunities; lead outreach, structure commercial terms, negotiate agreements, and oversee execution through launch.
  • Drive business development and revenue growth: build and manage a robust pipeline of strategic partners that enhance the PayPal Rewards value proposition and contribute to program growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations: align with external partners on business models, economics, and long-term value creation while ensuring successful deal closure.
  • Expand and monetize existing relationships: identify opportunities within PayPal’s merchant ecosystem to deepen partnerships through loyalty and rewards integration.
  • Develop partnership strategy for the German market: align partner selection and deal structures with customer needs, competitive dynamics, and PayPal’s broader objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: work with Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Engineering to bring partnerships to life and ensure seamless integration and execution.
  • Drive performance and optimization: track key metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and scale high-performing partnerships and campaigns.
  • Represent the customer and partner perspective: ensure partnerships deliver meaningful value to both end users and external stakeholders.
