About the Role

The Senior Equity Finance Manager will own day-to-day finance across VCT, Energy, and Housing portfolios, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cash and liquidity management, financial control, statutory compliance, and Board reporting. This role involves close collaboration with administrators, auditors, tax advisers, and internal stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day finance activities across the VCT, Energy and Housing portfolios.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance.
  • Maintain effective financial controls and support governance requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers and investment teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
  • Review quarterly management accounts from JTC.
  • Prepare quarterly Board Packs.
  • Cashflow forecasting.
  • Process subscriptions and redemptions.
  • Review investment valuations.
  • Monitor compliance with VCT rules.
  • Manage interim and annual reporting, including audit.
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts for Energy portfolio.
  • Cash and liquidity management for Energy portfolio.
  • Invoice processing for Energy portfolio.
  • Coordinate statutory accounts and tax return filings for Energy portfolio.
  • Manage funds flows on financial close and drawdowns for Energy portfolio.
  • Track expenditure against Board-approved budgets for Energy portfolio.
  • Review project company monthly accounts for Energy portfolio.
  • Assist with tax and deal structuring on acquisitions for Energy portfolio.
  • Review monthly management accounts from JTC for Housing portfolio.
  • Manage quarterly interest payments for Housing portfolio.
  • Manage intercompany dividends, cash sweeps and corporation tax payments on account for Housing portfolio.
  • Review statutory accounts and tax returns for 14 entities in Housing portfolio.
  • Issue annual rent demands for Housing portfolio.

Requirements

  • Extensive years PQE (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience in investment trusts, funds or financial services desirable.
  • Strong technical accounting and reporting skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems capability.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and accuracy against tight reporting deadlines.
  • Confident, clear communicator, able to build trust with senior stakeholders, auditors and Board members.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, comfortable taking ownership of complex financial processes.
  • Collaborative team player, working effectively with third-party administrators and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to manage multiple portfolios and competing priorities.
