About the Role

As a Test Manager & QA Automation Consultant, you will develop test strategies for challenging software projects, design modern QA processes, and drive test automation and the use of new technologies. You will be responsible for test management and quality assurance in demanding software projects, developing test strategies, concepts, and KPIs, and managing test activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will also develop and operate automated end-to-end tests with Cypress and/or Playwright, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and utilize modern AI tools for test case generation, optimization, and analysis. Additionally, you will advise clients on implementing modern QA processes, test automation, and shift-left approaches, collaborating closely with development teams and clients.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for test management and quality assurance in demanding software projects.
Development of test strategies, test concepts, and KPIs, and management of test activities throughout the entire project duration.
Development and operation of automated end-to-end tests with Cypress and/or Playwright and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.
Utilization of modern AI tools for test case generation, test optimization, and analysis, and evaluation of new solutions for practical application.
Advising clients on the introduction of modern QA processes, test automation, and shift-left approaches.
Close collaboration with development teams and clients, and active contribution to the further development of our QA standards.

Requirements

Completed studies in a STEM field or a comparable qualification.
At least five years of experience in software testing, test management, or as a QA Lead.
Sound knowledge of test methods and test management, ideally supplemented by an ISTQB certification.
Practical experience in test automation with Cypress and/or Playwright and integration into CI/CD pipelines.
Proficient use of test management tools such as Jira Xray, TestRail, or comparable solutions.
Interest in the use of AI in software testing, ideally with practical experience with relevant tools.
Knowledge of API, performance, or visual regression testing, and experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) are a plus.
Analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a structured, self-reliant way of working.
Very good German and English language skills.
