About the Role
ALBA BERLIN HER:OES is seeking an individual to support girls and young women in discovering their strengths, building self-confidence, and actively shaping their social environment through basketball.
Responsibilities
- Establish and provide long-term support for a HER:OES community for girls and young women in the Auguste-Viktoria neighborhood in Reinickendorf.
- Plan, conduct, and further develop regular basketball and movement activities to foster community, personal development, and social participation.
- Build trusting relationships and support the personal development of girls and young women.
- Develop new offerings collaboratively with participants, considering their interests, needs, and life realities.
- Plan and implement workshops, educational and social events, sports visits, and other HER:OES activities.
- Network and collaborate with schools, kindergartens, clubs, and other partners in the community.
- Actively shape and advance the HER:OES project to build sustainable structures for promoting girls and women in sports.
Requirements
- Enjoy supporting, empowering, and accompanying girls and young women in their development.
- Enthusiasm for basketball and movement, and belief in sports as a tool for empowerment and social participation.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, ideally with girls and young women.
- Pedagogical skills, demonstrated through studies, training, or relevant professional experience.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in building relationships and networks within the community.
- Initiative, creativity, and a desire to actively develop a new project.
- Structured work approach, willingness to take responsibility, and enthusiasm for implementing new ideas as a team.
- Willingness to provide an up-to-date extended child protection certificate.
