About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Community Manager to cultivate and deepen relationships with our San Francisco-based Founders Pledge members. In this relationship-first role, you will serve as the primary point of contact, fostering trust and connection. You will meet members, host gatherings, facilitate founder connections, and represent member needs internally. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to build Founders Pledge's presence in a key philanthropic market, offering genuine ownership and influence.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a trusted portfolio of relationships with SF-based members.
- Secure regular 1:1 touchpoints and understand member motivations to deepen engagement.
- Act as Founders Pledge's representative in the Bay Area, communicating our approach and increasing member awareness of resources.
- Lead invitation strategy and host Bay Area events, ensuring thoughtful curation and execution.
- Collaborate with Comms, Programming, Growth, Fundraising, and Advisory teams, integrating member insights.
- Maintain current and detailed member records for a holistic view.
- Strengthen Founders Pledge's Bay Area presence by developing engagement strategies, creating connection opportunities, and fostering community through introductions and initiatives.
Requirements
- Deeply people-oriented, highly proactive, and excited by community building in a challenging market.
- Proven experience managing relationships at a senior or HNW level, ideally in a membership, philanthropic, or entrepreneurial setting.
- Experience as a Community Manager/Community Lead, Account Executive, Customer Success Manager, or Major Gifts/Donor Relations Manager is a plus.
- Confident and compelling communicator in 1:1 and group settings.
- Skilled at representing an organization with warmth and clarity.
- Exceptional listening and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Ability to read the room, adapt approach, and build trust quickly.
- Energized by building something over time, experimenting, learning quickly, and staying motivated through incremental progress.
- Strategic thinker who prioritizes effectively and considers community development with a long-term lens.
- Ability to work well across teams, share insights, and help colleagues.
- High attention to detail in managing member records, follow-ups, and event logistics.
- Familiarity with the Bay Area tech or philanthropic ecosystem is an advantage.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals is an advantage.
