About the Role

NRMA Tow Truck Operators play a crucial role in supporting members across Australia by ensuring their safety and mobility. This frontline position involves providing towing assistance and delivering exceptional member experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to road service calls, professionally loading, transporting, and unloading vehicles while adhering to all road rules.
  • Represent the NRMA brand by understanding customer needs and providing customer-first service solutions.
  • Analyze vehicle breakdown situations to identify the most appropriate recovery, securing, and transportation methods, adhering to safety standards and tow truck regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with members, ensuring their safety and providing excellent customer service throughout the recovery process.
  • Maintain tools, uniforms, and equipment to a high standard of presentation and serviceability.
  • Contribute to working groups, toolbox talks, trials, and committees to enhance operations.

Requirements

  • A full valid NSW Medium Rigid Driver’s License (or higher).
  • A valid Tow Truck Driver’s Certificate or eligibility to obtain one prior to commencement.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including public holidays, with 12-hour shifts between 6 am and 8:00 pm.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrated experience working effectively across diverse communities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • A strong team player with a flexible and robust attitude and a positive mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work within new and changing parameters.
  • Successful pre-employment checks including reference checks, pre-employment medical assessments, and a National Police Check.
  • A Driving History check will be requested prior to the interview stage and must pass NRMA’s Driving History requirements.
