About the Role

Australian Unity is partnering with Beyond Blue to provide a 24/7 nationwide counselling and support service for Australians experiencing mental health challenges. This remote role involves providing phone and webchat support to individuals in distress, making a genuine difference in their lives. We are seeking compassionate and resilient individuals passionate about mental health and comfortable with overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide phone and webchat support to community members seeking help for emotional distress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
Provide frontline support to individuals experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, depression, and challenging life circumstances.
Support high volumes of calls and webchats discussing complex mental health concerns.

Requirements

Empathetic, calm, patient, flexible, resilient, and genuinely motivated to support people in the community.
Strong communication and active listening skills.
Confidence using technology and managing multiple systems simultaneously.
Excellent time management and administration skills.
Resilience and the ability to support high volumes of calls and webchats discussing complex mental health concerns.
Experience working in office-based, corporate, customer service, or contact centre environments.
A collaborative approach and commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
A private, quiet workspace suitable for confidential conversations.
A reliable and stable internet connection.
Strong computer and IT skills, including the ability to navigate multiple systems while supporting callers in real time.
