About the Role
The Structured Finance and Alternate Investment Funds Credit Ratings team is part of the Global Ratings Services team, analyzing the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures. This role involves supporting the end-to-end analysis of Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) transactions for new issues and ongoing surveillance. The team leverages AI as an enabler, guided by rigorous governance, to enhance human expertise and deliver actionable intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Develop credit judgment through feedback, coaching, and standard methodologies.
- Support AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and automations.
- Onboard and build capabilities of junior colleagues through guidance on routines, quality standards, and tool usage.
- Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives.
- Challenge existing processes, leverage new tools, and apply fresh perspectives to complex data and problem-solving.
- Own delivery for assigned credits with clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks/dependencies.
- Maintain ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, synthesizing developments into insights.
- Build and maintain analytical packs using standard templates, applying automation to reduce rework.
- Use approved GenAI/LLM tools for research, comparison, and drafting.
- Collect, reconcile, and validate data, identifying anomalies and gaps early.
- Support maintenance and review of models under guidance, documenting assumptions and changes.
- Support rating committees by preparing well-evidenced materials and responding to follow-up questions.
- Translate data, analysis, and research into clear, decision-ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently.
- Support testing of automation/agentic AI tools.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within a Structured Finance Ratings capacity or prior work experience in residential mortgage credit at a bank or independent mortgage company.
- Collaborative teammate who manages priorities and communicates clearly in a partnership-driven environment.
- Learning agility and continuous improvement mindset, comfortable adopting new tools while protecting quality and accountability.
- Ability to support juniors through guidance, quality checks, and knowledge sharing, including responsible AI practices.
- Strong research and data analysis skills.
- Financial statement/data competence; experience supporting modeling preferred.
- Understanding of credit/risk concepts.
- Practical AI fluency: uses GenAI/LLMs to augment analysis.
- Strong spreadsheet skills; willingness to learn data/automation tools to supervise and validate automated outputs.
- Effective written and verbal communicator, able to present research and analysis in a clear, structured way.
- High standards for accuracy, traceability, and documentation.
- Responsible technology use: follows approved boundaries to protect confidentiality and integrity.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
