About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Foundation team, you will enable SiriusXM to leverage cloud infrastructure effectively, ensuring stability, proper management, security, and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage foundational cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, implementing standards for networking, identity management, and security.
• Continuously evaluate and update cloud standards based on business priorities, company policies, and cloud provider updates.
• Improve transparency by educating other teams on the Cloud platform's functionality, limitations, and design guidelines.
• Collaborate with other organizations within SiriusXM to understand their needs and evolve the Cloud platform to better support them.
• Leverage and enhance Amazon Cloud environments to meet current and future infrastructure needs, staying informed on new services and practices.
• Drive initiatives to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising performance or security.
• Collaborate with technical groups such as Networking, Security, Development, and Platform Engineering to ensure alignment with business goals and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering Development, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, ELB, VPC, IAM) or equivalent cloud environments, with a strong understanding of AWS best practices.
• 2+ years of experience running Linux-based systems, with advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in Typescript, Python, Bash, or other common languages used for automation and infrastructure management.
• Expertise with tools like CloudFormation (CDK) or Terraform to deploy and manage infrastructure at scale.
• Proficiency in Git and experience with platforms like GitLab or GitHub for collaborative code management.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a proactive approach to exploring solutions and innovative ideas.
• A high availability mindset, prioritizing resilience and reliability in all designs and deployments.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
