About the Role
Lexus of Austin, a Penske Automotive Group dealership, is seeking experienced Mainline Technicians and Used Car Technicians to join our team and deliver extraordinary customer experiences. Whether your expertise is in mainline service, diagnostics, or used vehicle reconditioning, you'll perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with factory and dealership standards while helping deliver an exceptional ownership experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality repairs, diagnostics, maintenance, and vehicle reconditioning in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Deliver a world-class service experience by completing repairs accurately and efficiently the first time.
- Clearly communicate repair recommendations and technical findings with Service Advisors and dealership personnel.
- Complete repairs within manufacturer time standards while maintaining accurate repair orders and documentation.
- Follow all manufacturer procedures and comply with federal, state, local, OSHA, and dealership safety regulations.
Requirements
- Experience as a Mainline Technician, Automotive Technician, Used Car Technician, Reconditioning Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Flat Rate Technician, or ASE Certified Technician.
- Dealership experience preferred with 3+ years of automotive repair experience.
- Experience performing diagnostics, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on domestic, import, or luxury vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with safe working knowledge of shop equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
- High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to customers and determine how to assist them.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
- Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals in written and online formats.
- Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience.
- Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize.
