About the Role

You will build the technical foundation for our AI-powered in-app assistant for psychotherapeutic practices and the platform services used by other product teams. You don't need to be an ML researcher, but should bring architectural depth and a solid JVM foundation. We will work together to make AI components production-ready and compliant.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the services behind our AI-powered in-app assistant, from architecture to production operation.
• Develop platform services: capabilities that other product teams integrate instead of rebuilding.
• Integrate AI components (LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows) into production-ready software with the necessary guardrails for a healthcare product.
• Incorporate data privacy and compliance from the start (GDPR Article 9, EU AI Act) as a design constraint.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in the Java/JVM environment, ideally with Spring Boot.
• Real architectural depth: ability to design systems and make reasoned trade-offs.
• Experience in the healthcare IT sector or a similarly regulated industry.
• Openness to AI: willingness to build with LLMs and make them production-ready.
• Very good German language skills (C1).
• Residence in Berlin or concrete relocation intention.
• Practical experience with LLM integration, RAG, or agentic systems (plus).
• Experience with Cloud (Azure), containerization, and observability (Grafana, Loki) (plus).
• Domain knowledge from the healthcare sector (PVS, TI, gematik, KBV) (plus).
