About the Role

Randwick City Council is seeking a planning professional to assess a diverse caseload of applications, including major developments, concept approvals, and various commercial, industrial, open space, housing, and subdivision applications. The role involves negotiation and management of these applications within a progressive local government setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess development, subdivision, and Local Government applications in accordance with statutory requirements and Council's procedures and policies.
  • Negotiate and mediate with applicants and objectors to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
  • Appear as an expert planning witness in the Land and Environment Court of NSW.
  • Ensure decision-making processes for development-related applications are robust and rigorous.

Requirements

  • Experience and expertise in development assessment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and report writing skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • $99,237.93 - $114,123.62 per annum +12% superannuation
