About the Role

Education is a powerful vector for cultural relations activity, especially as access to high-quality education at all levels is more important than ever. This role sits in the Schools team of education, aiming to improve the quality of school education systems, benefit young people, and support Sustainable Development Goal 4 while deepening ties to the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate logistical support for service delivery using standardized systems and processes.
  • Organize resources to efficiently and effectively complete tasks based on instructions from senior managers or customers.
  • Provide feedback on operational issues to senior managers to support continuous improvement.
  • Research and resolve complex customer complaints and issues, coordinating input from other departments.
  • Keep customers informed throughout the resolution process.
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues to facilitate service delivery.
  • Support senior colleagues in hosting/attending external events or meetings.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with project partners, end-users, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Follow corporate risk management processes and procedures, including safeguarding, EDI, anti-racism, security, financial, anti-fraud, and cyber security policies.
  • Contribute to monthly and annual compliance checks to capture risks and issues.
  • Record, analyze, and report on operational activity and performance data using standard procedures.
  • Capture audience participation or feedback through a recognized M&E process.
  • Operate and run reports on standard financial processes for budget and resource management.
  • Maximize value for money when acquiring resources, goods, or services.
  • Plan and prioritize own work activities across multiple work streams.
  • Coordinate or assist others to complete activities according to project milestones and requirements.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

  • Experience managing relationships effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience of having lived, worked, or studied abroad and/or knowledge of other cultures.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service through various media and platforms to diverse audiences.
  • Experience promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within projects.
  • Understanding and promotion of ethical conduct, ensuring behavior aligns with British Council standards and values.
  • Proficiency in German language.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country at the time of application.
  • Mobility / relocation / visa sponsoring support will not be provided.
