About the Role
The Area Manager oversees janitorial operations across multiple client locations, ensuring service quality, employee performance, client satisfaction, and operational consistency. This leadership role involves supporting supervisors and frontline teams, partnering with clients, and driving accountability in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee janitorial operations across assigned client locations to ensure quality service, contract compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor cleanliness, safety, staffing, and operational performance.
- Lead, coach, and support supervisors and frontline employees to drive accountability and engagement.
- Partner with clients to address service needs, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and retention efforts for assigned teams.
- Monitor labor, staffing, supplies, and operational performance to support efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver consistent service excellence.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities services, or related operations leadership.
- Experience managing supervisors, leads, or frontline employees preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize competing demands.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to travel locally between assigned client locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
- Experience working in commercial janitorial services, facilities management, or integrated facilities management.
- Experience managing hourly teams in a multi-site environment.
- Experience with quality inspections, labor management, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Bilingual communication skills a plus.
- Ability to regularly walk client facilities, inspect work areas, and evaluate service quality.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operational requirements.
- Ability to travel between assigned locations.
