About the Role

The Telecom Designer will be a part of our national IES Design Branch, providing consulting and design services for technology-enhanced spaces. This role requires active participation in multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Contribute expertise in telecommunications systems and design elements to project teams.
• Lead projects, execute design work, and delegate production tasks.
• Perform complete technology systems design according to code.
• Meet with clients (architects, end-users) to assess system needs and project requirements.
• Maintain positive client relations.
• Engage in design meetings to determine project goals and requirements.
• Collaborate with CAD/BIM staff to develop construction drawings and systems drawings.
• Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Provide complete project design, space layouts, and material selection.
• Attend design meetings virtually or in person.
• Review drawings, RFPs, and design work products for quality assurance.
• Develop and graphically lay out construction schedules with client and team input.
• Act as a liaison between sales, project management, and operations during project turnover.
• Follow company guidelines on preferred vendors and products, working with vendors for optimal solutions and pricing.
• Ensure all design work meets customer and company quality and safety standards.
• Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements.
• Handle other assigned responsibilities.

• Regular attendance is mandatory.
• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of low-voltage Design experience.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in low voltage contracting or a related technical or construction field.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Must have proven ability to design and develop written and graphic representations of proposed solutions using Company software.
