About the Role
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and delivery, focused on making complex technical programs happen and delivering sophisticated technical products.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of on-time, in-scope delivery outcomes across your area of responsibility.
- Proactively manage programs of work, identify risks and dependencies early, and keep commitments on track.
- Act as the Product Owner for the development team, writing user stories, running sprint ceremonies, and ensuring progress.
- Work closely with Product Managers and technical leads to translate product requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding before committing to a direction.
- Synthesize competing priorities and inputs into practical delivery decisions grounded in data.
- Manage the boundary between agreed scope and incoming ad hoc requests constructively.
- Keep stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and dates without surprises.
- Navigate the tension between product and engineering with resilience and good judgment.
- Contribute to team-wide process improvement and help shape delivery frameworks.
- Hold Product Managers accountable for solid business requirements.
- Bring expertise to structuring and sequencing the product roadmap.
- Inform the user research direction.
- Propose the most effective path to market using technical delivery insight.
- Manage sizing and time-to-market as critical planning inputs.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a technical delivery, product owner, or technical program management role.
- Background as a software developer or technical IC who moved into delivery.
- Strong technical depth and experience in SaaS development and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience with APIs (design, integration, or working closely with teams building and consuming them).
- Background in software development or a technical discipline.
- Exposure to AI/ML products or delivery.
- Proven experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments (ceremonies, backlog management, sprint planning).
- Excellent requirements elicitation and analytical skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and the drive to reduce it.
- Experience in a SaaS, tech, or scale-up environment (~1,000 employees strongly preferred).
- East Coast Australia based.
- Full working rights.
- Experience with geospatial, computer vision, or data-heavy platforms (highly desired).
- Familiarity with AWS, cloud infrastructure, or data pipelines (highly desired).
- Experience scaling products or platforms across regions (highly desired).
