About the Role
Temper is building an agentic integration platform for the real economy, using AI agents to handle the full lifecycle of integration code. The role involves owning the infrastructure and platform layer end-to-end, working directly with the CTO. This includes building and managing a mini cloud platform for integration runtime with durable execution, sandboxed isolation, and self-healing capabilities, as well as agent infrastructure for code generation, testing, and deployment. The position offers a leadership track from day one, with responsibilities including setting engineering patterns, recruiting, and growing into a leadership role within the domain.
Responsibilities
- Own the infrastructure and platform layer end-to-end.
- Build agent orchestration across multiple specialized agents coordinating complex workflows.
- Develop platform engineering capabilities, creating a mini Vercel for integration runtime with durable execution.
- Create self-healing systems that detect failures and recover autonomously.
- Build a knowledge base of undocumented systems that gets smarter with every integration.
- Set engineering patterns for future infrastructure hires.
- Help recruit infrastructure team members from your network.
- Grow into leading the infrastructure domain within a year.
Requirements
- Experience running Kubernetes in production, including operation, scaling, and debugging.
- Experience owning infrastructure or a platform end-to-end, including shipping, scaling, and maintenance.
- Experience operating in fast, ambiguous, under-resourced environments (3+ years at a high-growth startup).
- Comfortable coding with AI agents and leveraging them effectively.
- Ability to hold strong technical opinions and adapt them based on evidence.
- Ability to move independently.
