About the Role
Lead one to two squads within the Experimentation team at Datadog, partnering closely with engineers, statisticians, product managers, and designers to develop a comprehensive roadmap into a shipped product. This role is crucial for building Datadog's feature flagging and experimentation capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of strong full-stack and frontend engineers, providing opportunities for development.
- Own delivery for the Experimentation App from planning through production, balancing speed with quality.
- Set technical direction in partnership with the team and statistics engineers, engaging credibly on architecture and tradeoffs.
- Partner with Product, Design, and customers to shape requirements and translate input into the roadmap.
- Foster a culture of fast iteration and high engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, and blameless postmortems.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent as the team scales.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills.
- Experience in career development, performance management, tracking and optimizing team velocity, and hiring is ideal.
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping software with a strong technical background.
- Experience shipping products in a fast-paced environment, comfortable balancing speed with quality.
- Ability to make decisions with customer input as a primary signal.
- Ability to prioritize and sequence work to deliver consistently, energized by ambiguity and a large roadmap.
- Strong stakeholder management skills using empathy, collaboration, and clear communication.
- Eligible for any required authorizations from the US government to conform to US export control regulations.
