About the Role

Waymo's Product Management Team is responsible for bringing fully autonomous driving technology to market by developing simple solutions for complex problems and orchestrating cross-functional efforts. This role focuses on defining and delivering the roadmap for fleet-wide simulation to evaluate the impact of offboard changes on commercial performance and enabling an experimentation environment for ML & OR models.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of extensive pre-production testing and experimentation through a well-functioning, highly capable, and easy-to-use fleet simulation platform.
  • Define and deliver on the roadmap for fleet-wide simulation to evaluate the impact of offboard changes on commercial performance.
  • Collaborate with various engineering and product teams to understand their evaluation needs and build a roadmap that serves multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to enable a simulation environment for experimenting with ML & OR models prior to launch.
  • Understand Developer Experience necessary to support large-scale adoption of this simulation platform and deliver front-end tools to drive adoption.
  • Deeply understand complex operational, engineering, and system-level pain points, and translate these insights into a crisp roadmap.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience collaborating directly with engineering, UX teams, Data Science, and operations teams.
  • A BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • Ability to deeply understand developer experience as it relates to pre-production testing and experimentation and use that empathy to drive a stellar product roadmap.
  • Ability to translate company-level outcomes to team-level outcomes and build a product roadmap to achieve those outcomes.
  • Direct ownership/accountability for highly technical infrastructure outcomes.
