About the Role
Maintain immaculate sports fields at St. Edward's University.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and restore grounds within the assigned field, including all activities fundamental to baseball/softball field care.
- Monitor, report, and resolve irrigation issues on assigned field or complex.
- Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, sprayers, and sod cutters.
- Report and address field issues such as turf stress, disease, and wear areas.
- Work with other grounds staff as directed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare, maintain, and restore all baseball/softball clay areas including infield skins, mounds, home plate, and warning track.
- Monitor, report, and resolve field issues such as turf stress, disease, irrigation problems, and pest management issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance operations on various pieces of equipment.
- Assist with tarp handling and inclement weather situations when necessary.
Requirements
- Prior groundskeeping or field maintenance experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn.
