About the Role

Underwriting Delivery and Change is seeking a Senior Pricing Engineer to contribute technical expertise, lead team development, and participate in strategic planning for rating change deliveries. The role involves managing business as usual and strategic pricing implementation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging advanced Python skills for complex implementations. The primary focus is on gathering requirements, designing optimized solutions, and developing/maintaining pricing algorithms, while also guiding and mentoring pricing engineers.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business pricing needs.
Manage strategic pricing implementation and projects to support rating engine development.
Design and propose optimized solutions for pricing implementations to enhance performance and efficiency.
Develop and maintain pricing algorithms using advanced coding skills in Python.
Manage and conduct thorough testing of pricing changes before deployment.
Manage pre-release activities, including code reviews, testing, and recast analysis.
Provide stakeholders with data-driven insights to facilitate decision-making and assist with release approval.
Develop comprehensive documentation for implementations, strategies, and data pipelines.
Prepare and deliver progress updates on implementations and propose process improvements.
Guide and mentor pricing engineers, offering expertise in Python coding and SQL database management.
Actively engage in recruiting top talent and foster an environment where team members flourish.

Requirements

Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for developing and testing methodologies.
Experience with Polaris PW rating engine tools and data visualization techniques.
Experience working in an Agile environment utilizing methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban/BDD/TDD/Extreme Programming.
Experience in managing complex projects and managing teams.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong track record of problem-solving and strategic thinking.
Proven ability to influence team dynamics and drive skill development.
