About the Role

Seeking a driven Health Benefits Sales Executive to grow our portfolio and build lasting client relationships. This role offers a competitive base salary plus unlimited commission potential, providing the freedom to earn without caps.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth in health benefits and related products.
  • Achieve or exceed personal sales production expectations by understanding ASO and self-funded products and implementing tactical sales strategies.
  • Create and present competitive, data-driven proposals for prospective brokers and clients, leveraging stop-loss market insights and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Maintain activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, and proposals.
  • Market medical and ancillary products to brokers and employers, formulating plan alternatives and strategies.
  • Create new business sales avenues from self-developed sources and actively seek referrals from the current client base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to examine market trends and stay ahead of consumer demands.
  • Participate in industry events and attend training to cultivate relationships and prospects, and maintain knowledge and skill development.
  • Represent the company as a market leader, sharing thought leadership, and maintaining strong community relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with brokers, carriers, and key stakeholders by leveraging territory knowledge, providing exceptional service, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to increase sales of product offerings.
  • Achieve required industry licensing within 90 days of hire and maintain it through Continuing Education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of proven success in exceeding business sales goals in health benefits, preferably in self-funded, ASO markets.
  • Active required industry licensing or ability to obtain and maintain within 90 days of hire with company support.
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits insurance (broker or carrier side) as well as self-funding and stop loss reinsurance market.
  • Experience explaining third-party, self-insured benefits including medical, flexible spending accounts, minimum essential coverage, and other ancillary products like stop loss insurance.
  • Knowledge of sales promotion methods, negotiation, and presentation skills including RFP/RFI responses, financial analysis, underwriting collaboration, and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to create, present, and close on marketing plans.
  • Ability to travel frequently to client or prospect sites; reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes, understanding other’s roles and empowering one another.
  • Demonstrate collaborative interaction with peers to reach common goals and be a resource to team members and internal/external customers.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
