About the Role

Fabric is rebuilding how people access and navigate healthcare. This role will shape the member experience from their first interaction through ongoing care journeys, serving as the design partner for the member-facing product. You will translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive and easy-to-use experiences, working closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams. This mid-level role offers broad design ownership and significant scope in key areas of the D2C journey, with opportunities for growth into a senior designer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of key parts of the D2C member experience: marketing site, signup and onboarding, member portal, in-product flows.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and clinical SMEs to translate complex care workflows into intuitive user experiences.
  • Conduct user research and use evidence to drive design decisions.
  • Build and maintain components and patterns that scale across the member experience.
  • Run design reviews, giving and receiving feedback to strengthen the work.
  • Partner with brand and marketing on the consumer expression of Fabric across acquisition channels.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of product design experience with shipped consumer-facing work.
  • Strong product thinking, ensuring functionality as well as aesthetics.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, capable of moving from problem definition to wireframing, prototyping, and shipping.
  • Curiosity about healthcare and a willingness to learn the domain deeply.
  • Strong craft in Figma and a portfolio showcasing range in flows and visual quality.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools as a natural part of the design process (e.g., Figma Make, Claude).
  • Ability to present work to engineers, PMs, and executives, adapting communication style to each audience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design: flows, components, interactions, and visual quality.
  • Hands-on experience contributing to a design system, building and maintaining components, documenting patterns, and considering scalability.
  • Mastery of Figma and modern design tooling, including AI-powered features.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar to accelerate prototyping, drafting, and workflow.
  • Strong communicator who can present work to engineers, PMs, and executives.
  • Ability to conduct user research independently (e.g., interviews, usability tests, concept validation) and use findings to drive design decisions.
