About the Role
The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician is responsible for maintaining the Hospital environment in a clean and safe manner consistent with standards established by Administration in conjunction with the Infection Control and Safety Committees. Cleans all areas of the hospital by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors. Demonstrates ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. Reports to the Manager of Environmental Services.
Responsibilities
- Cleans all areas of the hospital by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors.
- Utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Maintains the Hospital environment in a clean and safe manner consistent with established standards.
Requirements
- Ability to read, understand written documents and write.
- Ability to read housekeeping schedules and follow oral directions.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision after training.
- Strong inter-personal skills are necessary.
