About the Role
ACAP is hiring full-time Teacher Assistants for 10-month or year-round positions in preschool and Early Head Start classrooms. You will work closely with teachers to create nurturing environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Help teachers plan and execute engaging, age-appropriate curriculum for preschool classrooms (children ages 3-5) or Early Head Start classrooms (infants and toddlers).
- Assist with child education plans, assessments, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Help maintain a safe, healthy environment, ensuring adequate supervision in all indoor/outdoor activities and compliance with all safety and licensing standards.
- Support relationship building with parents/guardians to ensure every child’s growth, development, and well-being are supported both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a preschool classroom, child care, daycare, or other early childhood education setting.
- CDA credential is strongly recommended.
- An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or associated field (at least 15 hours of ECE coursework) with a minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
- Bi- or Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
