About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a regular, full-time Donor Centre Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of their designated donor centre, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This role focuses on delivering exceptional donor experience, meeting operational and financial targets, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team. This role provides leadership and direction in the delivery of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of donor centre(s) operations including ensuring regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, managing staff, productivity, quality and safety while continuously seeking improvements.
- Ensure adequate staffing, supplies, and equipment to meet collection goals.
- Manage staff, including recruiting, mentoring, and development.
- Handle budget planning and oversight.
- Collaborate with other teams on scheduling for maximum efficiency.
- Improve the donation experience to build donor loyalty by tracking key metrics and implementing improvements.
- Ensure timely donor communication and foster a culture of excellent donor care.
- Create a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters open communication, respect, and teamwork.
- Motivate and support staff development.
- Communicate regularly with teams and leadership.
- Coach and mentor direct reports.
- Collaborate with other managers to develop annual collection plans.
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance department to promote and implement a continuous quality improvement cycle.
- Oversee non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Participate in audits, including development of improvement plans and communication with the team.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in a related supervisory/management/leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer service and operational management.
- Proven analytical and decision making skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and variance analysis.
- Experience working in a unionized and regulated environment considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
