About the Role
Fanatics is seeking an AI Engineer to help shape and execute the company's AI strategy. This role involves identifying automation opportunities, designing and shipping agentic workflows, and setting standards for AI deployment. You will own problems end-to-end, from definition and design to building, proving, and scaling solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver on AI automation opportunities.
- Design, build, and deploy custom agents and agentic workflows using frontier models and the modern agent stack.
- Contribute directly to Fanatics' AI strategy, including tool investment, workflow prioritization, and impact measurement.
- Take ideas from concept to production, including problem scoping, solution design, prototype building, evaluation, and adoption driving.
- Help shape AI governance and best practices, including tool evaluation, security coordination, and adoption metrics tracking.
- Ask critical questions regarding automation feasibility, success criteria, and ROI measurement.
- Bring creative ideas and judgment alongside execution skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a closely related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience building with frontier LLMs, including designing and shipping custom agents or agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with the modern AI stack: LLM APIs, MCP, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, RAG, and evaluation methods.
- Comfort working in code (Python preferred) and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic mindset paired with a "get it done" attitude.
