About the Role
Canduct Industries is seeking an Afternoon Maintenance Millwright for its London, Ontario facility. Join a company with a friendly atmosphere and a passionate team.
Responsibilities
- Repair, adjust, maintain, and install various types of equipment.
- Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to determine work procedures.
- Inform, record, and report as required or appropriate.
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machines, bandsaws, pumps, ovens, overhead cranes, and vacuum lifters to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment by recommending changes to production lines to improve efficiency.
- Participate in team activities and perform duties safely with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and goals.
- Participate in company programs such as 5S, waste elimination, team meetings, and training.
- Conduct all work activities in a supportive team effort.
- Actively participate in the company’s health and safety, environmental, and operational programs.
- Identify spare parts and assist with updating the CMMS system.
- May be reassigned to other work matching qualifications.
- May be required to complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 433A Industrial Millwright License required.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a woodworking environment is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team setting and independently with minimal supervision.
- Great attendance is a critical requirement.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings.
- Basic Math skills – ability to measure and calculate.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, standing, walking, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
