About the Role

USAirports is seeking a full-time A & P Mechanic to perform scheduled, unscheduled, or special inspections, troubleshoot and repair aircraft, engines, and components, and ensure the calibration of shop test equipment. This role offers a rewarding work experience and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, unscheduled, or special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft, engines and a variety of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and accessories.
• Troubleshoot and perform structural repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching, and fiberglass/composite work.
• Perform system troubleshooting and operational and functional checks; service oil, fuel, and hydraulic systems; provides nitrogen and oxygen servicing; inspect and repair pitot static systems and battery services.
• Make required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Remove and install aircraft components.
• Install optional or added equipment to aircraft.
• Perform aircraft engine run and taxi, as qualified, to test system performance.
• Participate in maintenance test flights for system performance, troubleshooting and alignment.
• Understand the operation of various airframe and power plant systems.
• Ensure the calibration of all shop test equipment is accurate by using shop calibration records and procedures and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist and train other technicians in repair of systems, structures and engines when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Required documentation: valid Driver’s License, birth certificate and/or passport.
• Able to pass a 10-year background check, receive and maintain an airport security badge.
• Must be able to acquire a customs seal through Customs and Border Patrol.
• Able to successfully complete pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens.
• Excellent dependability, communication, and professionalism required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Have a broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft of the class, category and type authorized.
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with efficiency and accuracy.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and twisting for extended amounts of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. from floor to waist level.
• Must be able and willing to work in elevated environments over 12 feet.
• Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility clothing when required.
