About the Role
The Supply Chain Director is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure seamless operations across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution networks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth objectives
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team across multiple functions
- Collaborate with executive leadership to forecast demand, plan capacity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supply chain effectiveness
- Oversee procurement, vendor management, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution operations
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, logistics providers, and other partners to secure favorable terms and ensure reliability
- Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels with working capital requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Drive adoption of supply chain technologies, automation, and data analytics tools
- Lead digital transformation initiatives including ERP systems, warehouse management systems, and supply chain planning software
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions
- Resolve complex supply chain issues affecting production, customer satisfaction, or financial performance
- Monitor market trends, geopolitical factors, and industry changes that may impact operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field
- 6+ years of progressive supply chain experience with at least 2 years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-site supply chain operations
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Master's degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management)
- Professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- International supply chain experience and knowledge of global trade regulations
- Proficiency with ERP systems and supply chain analytics platforms
