About the Role
As a Barista at The Jet Set Lounge, you will be the face of our brand, crafting high-quality beverages while delivering engaging service. You’ll play a key role in creating a memorable guest experience that balances hospitality, craftsmanship, and storytelling around both coffee and retail offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to brand standards.
- Proactively anticipate customer and store needs by assessing the environment and recognizing guest cues, while consistently delivering an elevated, personalized service experience to every customer.
- Provide genuine, personalized customer service, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued.
- Educate guests on our beverage menu, brewing methods, and retail products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café and retail environment.
- Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service between café and retail.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility and perform tasks with speed and excellence.
Requirements
- 2+ year of experience in guest-focused industries such as restaurants, bars, theaters, kitchens, specialty retail, or hospitality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English is required.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
- Ability to meet store scheduling and availability expectations, including the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and high retail traffic and sales days.
- A NY Food Handler Certificate and an understanding of how to abide by the rules of the Department of Health related to Food Service and Employee + Guest Safety.
