About the Role
Anaplan is establishing a security architecture practice and seeks a leader to define and implement reusable security assets like reference architectures, identity patterns, and AI guardrails. This is a people-leadership role with deep technical scope, responsible for setting engineering standards and ensuring secure-by-design principles are the default.
Responsibilities
- Lead the security architecture practice, defining review processes and standards.
- Own reusable security patterns including reference architectures, identity and authorization patterns, cryptography architecture, and AI guardrail design.
- Set and maintain security engineering principles for platform development.
- Lead architecture and design reviews for major platform and AI changes.
- Partner with platform engineering to ensure architecture reflects platform realities.
- Support compliance by design for enterprise and regulated environments.
- Codify architecture decisions into policy-as-code for enforceable guardrails.
- Build and develop the security architecture team through hiring, coaching, and mentoring.
Requirements
- A track record building or leading security architecture in a SaaS or cloud-first environment, with scope across multiple teams.
- Deep architecture credibility in identity and authorization, cryptography, secure-by-design, and threat modeling at scale.
- Sufficient hands-on depth to challenge weak designs on their merits.
- People-leadership judgment, including hiring, coaching, calibrating senior teams, and managing performance.
- Experience aligning architecture to enterprise and regulated environments.
- A clear understanding of how AI impacts the architecture surface, including identity, authorization, supply-chain integrity, and guardrails.
