About the Role
We are looking for an IT Operations & Systems Administrator to join our Technology team. This role supports the Technology team in delivering a great experience for employees across the business by ensuring they have reliable access to the devices, systems, and support they need to work effectively. It offers the opportunity to gain broad experience across IT operations in a high-growth business.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of SBC's IT environment.
- Provision, configure and maintain company laptops, mobile devices and related hardware.
- Manage employee onboarding, role changes and offboarding from a technology perspective.
- Maintain the hardware asset register and device inventory.
- Administer the company's Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform.
- Coordinate hardware refreshes, repairs and returns.
- Maintain office networking infrastructure including WiFi, switches, internet connectivity and coordination with third-party providers.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of office printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
- Administer core company systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Asana and other business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls.
- Support single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) administration.
- Maintain software licensing records and assist with renewals.
- Support adoption and effective use of company systems.
- Create and maintain user guides and knowledge base articles.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal IT support requests.
- Monitor ticket queues and ensure support requests are resolved within agreed service expectations.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and access issues.
- Escalate issues to external vendors where appropriate.
- Track service levels and identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
- Support implementation of company information security policies.
- Ensure devices remain patched, protected and compliant with company standards.
- Assist with access reviews and user account audits.
- Support security awareness initiatives and employee training.
- Escalate security concerns and incidents appropriately.
- Support the Technology team with evidence collection for ISO 27001 & Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Coordinate with external IT and software providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and support issue resolution.
- Assist with software procurement and licence management.
- Maintain records of suppliers, contracts and renewal dates.
Requirements
- Background managing employee onboarding, offboarding and access provisioning.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency administering SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, Asana, Zoom or similar business applications.
- Good understanding of IT security best practices, including device compliance, patching and access management.
- Experience managing laptops and mobile devices throughout their lifecycle.
- Understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (e.g. Jamf, Microsoft Intune).
- Ability to maintain asset inventories and software licence records.
